This is a typical example of having plan to photograph a specific subject or composition only to find it doesn’t work when I get to the location, as here in the Park Hill area near Lyndhurst. This is exactly what happened here. Having realised my intend plan wasn’t going to work I looked around for other compositions.In the distance I could see light streaming through trees onto a path but, I didn’t know the area that well so headed off to investigate just in case. . . As I got closer I could see this scene unfolded with sharp foreground, subtle path heading into the distance and early morning sun warming the light through the mist in the mid and background. These conditions can change incredibly quickly so I scrambled to get setup create the photograph.
